Undulating, curvy, gold wiggles—these eels are a stunning mashup of Egyptian and delicately loopy Belle Epoque. The woman, or man, who wears a piece from the eel collection has an unpredictable power. In typical Orchard Jewelry style, the eel becomes beautiful, not scary; magical, not menacing.

The model for these eels arrived in the garden after Hurricane Sandy in 2013, each one from the Sargasso Sea.

The Charmer’s duo meet at the tails, the heads forming a U-shape. This necklace lays heavy and flat, each sporting two eyes and dots as embellishment.

The Charmer can fit like a choker or fall right below the collar bone. Like many of Orchard’s pieces, it works with casual jeans and a scoop neck shirt, or it works fancy—for a lawn party.

American eels, born in the Sargasso Sea, are carried by ocean currents to streams, rivers and lakes on the East Coast. They return to the Sargasso to lay eggs, then die.
